What are the Benefits of Indoor Cycling?

According to the U.S. Department of Health ".....regular physical activity substantially reduces the risk of coronary disease, stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.....and helps to control weight, contributes to healthy bones, muscles and joints... reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression..." Need we go on? Cycling is also "low-impact" without the joint stress that you get from "ground-pounding" sports and activities. All good reasons to strap-in/clip-on and RYDE!



Wish-A-Mile 50 Update

As of this writing we are one month out from the Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour for the Make-A-Wish Michigan Foundation, and our fabulous RydeOn! 50 team has grown to nine members and raised $2,335.00!

 In other words, we're almost halfway to our goal of $5,000 with a full month yet to go! (We're also looking for just one more team member)

Are you thinking about joining the team but afraid you'll have trouble riding a full fifty miles? Consider this: during the average RydeOn! indoor cycling class, Ryders cover about twenty miles in just fifty minutes. During the WAM 50 event, you'll ride the equivalent of about two and a half RydeOn! classes – but you'll have roughly six hours to make the trip!

In other words, think of the Wish-A-Mile 50 as a lazy Sunday bike ride enjoying the scenery and the summer – while raising money to make dreams come true for children living with life-threatening conditions.

Your enjoyable Sunday bike ride could help a child like Emma, who was able to travel to New York City and spend a day as a model. Or like Matthew, who realized his dream of being a Jedi for a day. Or Jazzmen, whose Royal Sweet 16 Party gave her the strength to undergo extensive chemotherapy treatments.

How many people get to spend a day with friends, enjoy fresh air and moderate exercise, and make a child's dream come true -- all at the same time? All it takes is one click to sign up – and, to get ready, we encourage you to get to at least a few RydeOn! spin classes between now and then (and make sure to get enough sleep)!
