What are the Benefits of Indoor Cycling?

According to the U.S. Department of Health ".....regular physical activity substantially reduces the risk of coronary disease, stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.....and helps to control weight, contributes to healthy bones, muscles and joints... reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression..." Need we go on? Cycling is also "low-impact" without the joint stress that you get from "ground-pounding" sports and activities. All good reasons to strap-in/clip-on and RYDE!

 

 

Inspired to Ryde for a Cause Tina Ferraro of Saline Spearheads RydeOn!'s Wish-A-Mile 50 Team

After making RydeOn!'s indoor cycling classes her workout routine for just over a year, our wonderful client Tina Ferraro is taking her own training for life the next step by committing to be one of the riders during the Wish-A-Mile fifty mile ride this July 28 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Michigan Foundation.

 Not only that, she's recruiting other members of the RydeOn! family to join her.

“My good friend Fred Farrand has been doing the Wish-A-Mile 300 for years, and I've admired his dedication to it and his ability to complete such a monumental event,” Tina says of her reason to get involved this year. “But 300 miles – 100 miles a day for three days!? I thought that was way too ambitious, so I was thrilled when I checked out the Wish-A-Mile website and saw they also offer a fifty-mile ride. I was sure that the hours I've put in at RydeOn! have prepared me for that – and then I thought that maybe other members of the RydeOn! family might want to take on a new challenge, and wouldn't it be fun to get a team together and see what our new-found fitness can accomplish?”

Tina says she would be “thrilled” to recruit a team of ten fellow Ryders to join her. “But really, any number of teammates, people ready to challenge themselves a little more for a wonderful cause, would make me happy,” she adds. While each WAM fifty mile participant is required to raise $300, Tina would like to set her team's goal a bit higher.

“I approach all things conservatively,” Tina explains, and points out that she started her relationship with RydeOn! by committing to just five classes. “So if each team member raises $400 or $500 instead of the required $300, I will be beyond satisfied.”
